About the event

Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) affects 15-21% of mothers and about 10% of new dads. These challenges can begin prior to pregnancy, during pregnancy and/or after birth. This workshop will provide introductory information regarding Perinatal Mental Health, ways to support clients through these stages, along with resources and interventions to utilize in sessions. You will also receive information regarding training/certification in Perinatal Mental Health. The perinatal field needs providers who are willing to serve as a community for the sole purpose of filling gaps among parents that are in need of support. Come learn more and establish a network of support, which can also ensure parents have access to care.

Lunch will be provided and community building activities will be held. Wear comfortable clothing for a midday stretch with The Mindful Collective.

6 CEU credits will be provided.

***I, Esmeralda Cardenas, MA, LPC am a Certified Perinatal Mental Health profressional and have served the perinatal community for over 4 years. In this workshop, I intend to share stragies and interventions that can help support the therapeutic relationship and the client's healing. I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques, ACT, Motivational Interviewing, along with trauma sensitive approaches. I have developed a few resources that I share with clients' recovery from pregnancy and postpartum mental health struggles. I look forward to engaging in this discussion and learning with you.
