Strengthening your emotional, mental, social, spiritual and physical wellness
Telehealth Information & COVID-19
Due to the recent concerns regarding COVID-19 and in an effort to decrease exposure to all, Pillars of Life Counseling, will be conducting therapy sessions via telehealth until April 3, 2020.
If you are scheduled for a session in the next two weeks, your appointments will continue on the day and time scheduled.
Telehealth therapy will be conducted through a secure, HIPAA compliant platform. You will be receiving an email with the link for your appointment. The email will prompt you to download the Simple Practice Telehealth app, where your appointment will take place.
Please contact your healthcare insurance to verify your telehealth benefits specific to mental health. Providers have lower possibilities of accessing this information due to an influx of calls.
Please note that new consent forms for telehealth services will be sent to your email, which you can access through your client portal. It will prompt you to electronically sign the forms.
Should your health insurance company not cover telehealth counseling, your appointment fee will be determined by the contract rate. Please contact me to inquire about the specific amount that pertains to your plan.
Should the situation escalate and the government or other health organizations extend these protective measures, Pillars of Life Counseling, will continue to hold telehealth therapy sessions only until deemed safe by authorities.
A Note from Your Therapist
As a healthcare provider, it is of upmost importance to me, to keep all of us safe by lowering any potential exposure; especially, for those who are higher risk. I also find it to be my duty to serve my community in this way.
It can be daunting to meet with a therapist through video call (telehealth) and I completely understand that. Providing telehealth can be a support to you in the following ways:
Avoid disruption to your treatment.
Lower any negative emotions you may be experiencing due to the changes around you.
Give you the opportunity for restorative self-care (your wellbeing matters).
More scheduling options for parents whose kids are home—don’t hesitate to reach out and ask about times.
If you have been wanting to start therapy, starting through telehealth may be different and not what you are expecting, but remember that it is temporary. If you are needing support, using this platform is not as scary as it seems.
It supports your decision to decrease your exposure, your family's and that of others.
Telehealth is also a safe and confidential way of receiving therapy.
If I am not a good fit for your specific needs, I have referrals for therapists who are providing telehealth services and are ready to support you. We have options to continue your wellness and healing, we are here to support you through it, no matter the challenges we may be facing.
